West Nile Virus Detected in Twin Falls County

A pool of mosquitoes tested positive for West Nile Virus (North of Filer along the Snake River). The Twin Falls County Pest Abatement District encourages residents and recreationalists to take precautions to protect themselves from the virus by wearing long sleeves and using an EPA approved repellant. West Nile Virus is endemic to Idaho, so we will see it every year. Not every mosquito can transmit the virus, but the safest course of action is to reduce your exposure to mosquito bites.
